Stephanie Hendy is from Vancouver, BC where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology with a focus in Active Health and Rehabilitation from Simon Fraser University in 2013. She is a Practicing Kinesiologist through the BC Association of Kinesiologists, and is a Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine.
Stephanie has worked in a variety of settings including as a lead clinician and staff mentor/trainer in a private chronic condition management clinic, as a kinesiologist for people involved in motor vehicle accidents, as a course conductor in a private school for people certifying as personal trainers, and more recently as a disability case manager for a private insurance company.
Stephanie pursued the field of exercise science through a keen desire to better manage her own life of living as an active person with a chronic condition. Stephanie lives with Type 1 Diabetes, and moved to Vernon to pursue her adventure-forward life through her love of biathlon and cross country skiing in the winter, road cycling and mountain biking in the summer. Stephanie believes that progress in her clients is made when caring for the whole person beyond function and diagnosis and changing healthcare happens best through example.
