Massage Therapy is a patient focused healthcare profession focused on assessment and treatment of common musculoskeletal injuries and complaints. Treatments are centered around reduction of soft tissue pain, optimal movement, and patient-based education to manage away from the treatment room.
Registered Massage Therapists in BC must complete a specialized program at an accredited college. All RMTs must complete the BC registration exams set by the College of Massage Therapists of BC (CMTBC) and must continue with post graduate studies to maintain registration.
Common areas of treatment for an appointment with your registered massage therapist may include:
- Low back pain
- Postural Strain
- Headaches
- Whiplash
- Sports injuries
- Pregnancy
Our Registered Massage Therapists are also a part of your recovery under ICBC’s new care-based insurance model as of May 2021. ICBC customers are able to access 12 pre-authorized massage therapy sessions within the first 12 weeks from the date of their crash without ICBC approval.
